Ever heard someone say, "I have a slow metabolism, that's why I am overweight"? Or have you ever seen a very thin girl eat like a 300lb. man and not gain an ounce? You knew she must have a very high metabolism. It is true that all of our rates of metabolism are different. So you have to work with what you have.
The secret to weight loss is to eat less, eat the right things and exercise more. By more, I do not mean anything strenuous. Walking or a few situps each night is enough. Or perhaps take up a sport such as tennis or golf. All sports are great forms of exercise. Ride a bike or skate, what a fun way to get some exercise. Enough about that for now. Let's find out what to eat to help us increase our metabolism and turn our bodies into fat burning machines.
Eat unlimited amounts of fresh vegetables per day. Eat lots of fresh fruits each day, as snacks also, 3-5 servings per day (only one banana per day). Eat skinless poultry and plenty of fish, but only prepared broiled, baked, boiled, grilled or steamed, no sauces or butter. Use herbs for seasoning. Eat only whole grain carbohydrates in the morning, whole grain muffins, bread, rice cakes, unsweetened cereal. In other words, "brown" not "white" rice and pasta and breads etc. Drink lots of water every single day, at least 8 eight ounce glasses per day. Egg whites only, no yolks. Limit dairy, one or two dairy daily, low fat or fat free only. Drink unsweetened fruit juice and unsweetened tea. Exercise regularly, at least 30 minutes, three times per day. This is your regimen for maximum metabolism and weight loss.
Here are your "Don'ts":
-don't eat fat (no oils except a small amount of olive oil for cooking)
-don't skip meals (when you do, your metabolism will actually slow down not speed up!!)
-don't drink more than one cup of coffee per day
-don't eat sugar of any kind! no sugar!
-don't drink whole milk, drink skim
-don't take alcohol
-don't eat any creamed sauces or fried foods at all
-don't drink sodas (not even diet)
-don't use salt
